What is UniFi?
UniFi is Ubiquiti's networking platform for routing, switching, Wi-Fi, cameras and access control, managed from one app. It is popular in homes and offices that want reliable coverage in every room.
Do UniFi access points need Ethernet cable?
Yes. Access points are wired to a PoE switch, which powers them and carries data. This wired connection is what keeps performance steady. We handle the cabling.
Is UniFi better than mesh Wi-Fi?
For larger homes, many devices, home offices and outdoor areas, a wired UniFi network usually performs better than wireless mesh. For a small apartment, mesh can be enough. See our comparison guide.
Can UniFi run my security cameras?
Yes. UniFi Protect records camera video to local storage and can run on the same system as your network.
