Why it matters
A large TV on a wall is heavy and expensive. A mount screwed into drywall alone, the wrong anchors in plaster or brick, or power cords stuffed inside the wall can look fine on day one and fail later. A few questions up front avoid that.
1. How will you anchor it?
The answer should be studs, masonry anchors or proper backing, never drywall alone. Ask how they handle plaster, brick and metal studs. See mounting on brick or plaster.
2. How will you hide the wires?
In-wall power must use an approved in-wall power kit, not a TV cord pushed through the wall. Ask what they use. See hiding TV wires.
3. Is the mount rated for my TV?
Mounts have weight and size ratings and fit specific hole patterns. For 85-inch and larger TVs, ask about heavy-duty mounts and whether two technicians will come. See large TV mounting.
4. How do you decide the height?

5. Are you insured, and are techs background-checked?
You're letting someone into your home and drilling into your walls. Insurance and vetted technicians protect you.
6. What if something goes wrong later?
Ask about their workmanship guarantee and whether they'll come back if the TV sags or a wire stops working.
7. Can you do the sound and setup too?
